Gene's Daily Scriptural Postings

23 February 2022

It's no accident that you follow Jesus. Thousands of years ago God made a promise to Abraham. Abraham believed that promise and received it by faith. God looked through time when He made that promise to Abraham and saw you. God put a plan in place to adopt you into His family, as far back as that promise to Abraham. If it were just that one promise that God made to Abraham, it would be enough. But there are many, many more promises that God made and recorded in His Word which pertain to you. Like Abraham, you too can believe those promises and receive them by faith. In fact, these promises are so much a part of our new identity in Christ that the Bible calls us children of promise. You are a child of promise. The only way you will learn your true identity is to learn those promises which God has already made to you.

Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.— Galatians 4:28 (NIV)
