LISTEN, SPEAK, BE PATIENT

James tells us to be swift to hear. This is a refreshing reminder in a world that often values speaking over listening.

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; James 1:19

It is like James is saying: Open your ears before you open your mouth. Too often, we miss important details because we are too quick to share our thoughts.

He encourages us to be slow to speak. It is not just about listening; it is about taking a moment to think before responding.

How many conflicts could be avoided if we chose our words carefully and thoughtfully?

James is nudging us to let our words be filled with compassion and kindness.

Anger has a way of clouding our judgment and escalating situations unnecessarily. James invites us to exercise patience and compassion for others as we hope to receive it ourselves.

As you go about your day, Be quick to listen, think before you speak, and slow to anger, and see how much better your day goes.

Do you need Prayer? We are here to pray with you.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the instruction of how to be more like Jesus. I desire to exercise patience and compassion for others as I hope to receive it myself. This is the way that pleases You, Father, and as I want to be more like You, I must be obedient to this verse. I will walk in love as You have provided the great example of giving, and as I am obedient, I will reflect Your love. Thank You for using me this day. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
