Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

31 January 2024

Generosity is an attention getter. When you are generous it acts as a lighthouse that points people to your God. We don't have to boast about our generosity either. Instead, God will use it to touch the hearts of others, often well beyond the individuals who receive our generosity. God reveals our generosity to others because it brings glory to Him.

When we generously give to others we are reflecting the very nature of our Father in Heaven. This is why it is so critical that we are generous with no strings attached. If we place expectations on others as a result of our giving, or try to manipulate them into doing something after receiving our generosity, then we twist it and turn it into a worldly transaction.

Instead, we can stand on the promises of God without any pressure or manipulation towards those to whom we give. That way we can give freely knowing God will both repay what we give and glorify the gift to reveal His nature to those around us. Is there a way you can do something generous today and give glory to God?

As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ. — 2 Corinthians 9:13 (NLT)
