As believers it is natural to think that everyone is interested in the truth, and that we must share the truth with everyone we come across. Jesus said that is not always the case. He equated sharing spiritual truth with those not interested in it to giving what is holy to dogs, and throwing pearls before swine.
Those with no interest in the truth will trample over it, and make a mockery of it. Then they will often turn on you and attack you personally.
Unfortunately there are people out there who completely reject the things of God. We must exercise discernment to see when we are faced with these people so we can follow the instructions of Jesus about not sharing the valuable spiritual things God has revealed to us.
There are plenty of people who are hungry for the truth. You will do much better to put your efforts into sharing with those willing to receive. Don't waste your time or energy arguing with those who reject your message outright. You will be far more productive for the Kingdom of God when you feed hungry folks who are open to truth instead. | ||
