Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

11 February 2024

Jesus deliberately spoke in parables. He said the reason He did so was to obscure the truths He revealed from those who don't believe. The truths of God are spiritually discerned and understood.

Therefore, those who reject Jesus reject access to the truth. Over time their hearts grow more and more callous to the things of God. As their hearts grow harder, these people who reject the things of God tend to forget even the truth that they once knew. It's like what little truth they once had was taken away from them.

In contrast, those who embrace the things of God and lean into them gain even more revelation of those truths. Jesus said those who have, even more will be given to them. But those who don't, even what little they have will be taken away from them.

God does not withhold anything from them. It's just a case of their hard hearts cannot perceive the truth any longer. This is what happens to folks who seemed to walk with God at one point in their lives, but then wander far from God's ways. It's as if they never walked with God at all.

Lean into God. Abide with Jesus. Then God will give you an abundance of wisdom and understanding of the things that really matter in life. God's mysteries are not hidden from you. They are hidden for you!

He answered them, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but it is not given to them.”
