Gene's Daily Scriptural Postings

24 March 2022

At the very start of his earthly ministry, the very first thing Jesus said is that God anointed Him, "to preach the gospel to the poor." We all know that the word "gospel" means "good news" in the Greek. The reason Jesus offers good news to poor people is because the Kingdom of God provides a way out of poverty. Jesus said as much when he said the poor are blessed because the Kingdom of God is theirs. The Kingdom provides answers both for this life, as well as for the life to come. The Kingdom of God is about prospering in our whole being — body, soul, and spirit. When we were born again we were immediately adopted into God's own royal family. We became brothers and sisters to King Jesus himself. That makes us princes and princesses in God’s own family. It's time to put off the beggarly ways of thinking and doing things you have been holding onto from your old life. You are royalty! Step into the royal ways that are now yours by entitlement. This is your new birthright in Christ!

Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: “Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God."— Luke 6:20 (NKJV)
