TIME TO GET SERIOUS

Peter urges us to get serious about our faith and pay attention to all the promises and blessings God has given us.

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self control, to self control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 2 Peter 1:5-7

Faith is our foundation, and we need to build on that faith by knowing the Word of God. This knowledge is the key that helps us navigate life better.

It is about discipline, reigning in our desires and impulses, hanging in there when things get rough, and not giving up on God or ourselves.

Living a life that reflects the character of God, striving to be more like Him each day. Being kind and treating others with genuine love and compassion.

Love ties everything together. It is the glue that holds our faith together. Love for God, love for others, love that is real.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

When Peter talks about adding all these qualities to our faith, he paints a picture of a life that is vibrant, purposeful, and deeply rooted in the love of God.

Think of it like building a house. Faith is the foundation, but these virtues are like the walls, windows, and doors that make a home.

Today, commit to growing in these qualities, one step at a time, trusting that God is with you every step of the way.
