Gene's Daily Scriptural Postings

Jesus taught us to love those who do us wrong and to bless those who attempt to curse us. More than anyone else in history, Jesus understood that love is more powerful than hate. This is because God is love. Love is the defining characteristic of the very one who sustains the entire universe with His word. That makes love incredibly powerful. So when you love those who wrong you and who come against you, that is when you act most like your Father in heaven. Those acts of love are how people will know that you are a son or daughter of God. They are what reveal you as princes and princesses in the royal family of God to an unbelieving world.

But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.— Matthew 5:44-45 (MEV)
