When you stop and think about what it means to be redeemed, it will change your life.
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree. Galatians 3:13
Let us talk about the word redeemed. It is like buying something back or setting it free from captivity.
In this case, it is us, yes, we are set free from the curse of the law. What curse?
It is all the consequences of our mistakes, mess ups, and shortcomings. The things that get in the way between us and God.
Jesus stepped in and took our place and became that curse for us. Imagine that for a moment. The perfect, sinless Son of God taking on all the weight of our wrongs so that we could be set free. Now, that is love.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Jesus did not come to teach us some nice lessons or perform a few miracles. No, He came to break the chains of sin that bound us and erase the division between us and God.
We are not perfect, and we still mess up and fall short. But here is the nice thing about redemption: it is not about how good we are or how much we have messed up. It is about what Jesus has already done for us.
It means that no matter what we have done or where we have been, we have a Savior who loves us enough to take our place.
Today, walk in the freedom that Jesus has bought for us, embrace the grace that covers all our mistakes, and never forget the incredible sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross to make it all possible.
Take a moment right now to thank God for His redemption. Thank Him for loving you enough to send Jesus and live in the freedom and grace that redemption brings.
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your redemption. Thank You for loving me enough to send Jesus, and I know I can live in the freedom and grace that redemption brings. I am blessed to be able to call You Father as I acknowledge You have redeemed me and made me one of Your children. This is the most precious life that You have allowed me to have. Thank You for making a way where there was no other way. I thank You in the name of Jesus. Amen.
