Gene's Daily Scriptural Postings

The Bible says that it is impossible to please God apart from faith for two reasons. First we must believe that God exists, which makes sense. How can you please someone if you don't believe that person exists in the first place? The second reason the Bible says it takes faith to please God is that we must believe God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Some Christians get hung up on the idea of believing God rewards them. Yet Jesus said that when we seek God's Kingdom first instead of seeking after the things in this life, then all the stuff of life will be added to us. God does reward us for seeking Him and His Kingdom. Believing that God promises to reward you is a great motivator to stay with it. You can learn exactly what those rewards are in the Bible. It's one more way you benefit from studying God's Word.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.— Hebrews 11:6 (MEV)
