Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

24 March 2024

Faith is not some fantasy anchored in make believe. Faith is a real and powerful spiritual force which affects the world around us on a daily basis.

Fear is the opposite of faith and also has a significant impact on our world. Unfortunately most people are much more accustomed to operating in fear than in faith. People who operate in fear release fear's destructive force in their own lives and on the world around them. Their worry is just meditation on the negative outcomes, what can go wrong, and how bad things might get.

Often they justify their worry, negativity, and fear by claiming to be realistic. They want to avoid the pain of seeing their hopes crushed. However, before something happens, a good outcome is just as possible as a bad one. So why not focus your attention on the positive, on what could go right, and how good things might get instead?

The key to being positive without losing hope is to believe things which are true. Then your hope will grow into substantial faith that produces evidence of the reality of God's activity in your life. People will see that evidence of God working in your life and ask you to share it with them. That's the best opening for you to tell them the reason for your hopeful, positive outlook on life.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. — Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)
