Jesus died to set us free from the system of hard work to make ourselves good enough to be acceptable to God. Every attempt to approach God outside of Jesus requires people to demonstrate they are good and worthy of God’s favor and blessing. It’s a long hard road carrying that burden of trying to measure up.

Then along came Jesus telling us His yoke is easy and His burden is light. That’s because He did all the heavy lifting of earning righteousness on your behalf. Now you are truly free because He makes His righteousness available for you to simply receive by faith.

The moment you believed, Jesus made you free. Stand fast because you have a part to play in retaining your liberty.

You must hold the line on that freedom because the enemy constantly tempts you to get back into self-effort. But that is nothing more than a performance trap!

There is nothing you can do to make yourself any better in God’s eyes than what Jesus has already done for you. You are now the very righteousness of Christ himself. Choose today to walk in the righteousness and freedom that is already yours by divine decree.
