We finally have some cooler temperatures here in Ohio this week. It’s been an interesting summer season with unusually high temperatures and very little sign of moving into autumn temperatures. But then… the leaves started to fall.
It felt out of place for the leaves to |
change color and start falling while still being so hot. With those high temperatures it certainly felt like Autumn wasn’t here yet. But the calendar told us it was. There was a disconnect between what we were feeling and what was true. Which one should we believe?
This is great example of how what we sense and observe in the natural can tell us one thing, while there is a very different reality in the spiritual realm. When that happens, we have a choice to make. Will we believe what our physical senses are telling us? Or will we choose to believe what God says is the truth in that situation?
The Bible gives us wise guidance to help us choose well. |
So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. — 2 Corinthians 4:18 (HCSB) |
