The world relies on all sorts of things for security and significance. Their single biggest source is money. The mammon spirit behind the world's money system promises power, security, happiness, and a whole lot more. But because the mammon system is cursed, wealth gained through it comes with a load of life-draining baggage such as selfishness, greed, isolation, disappointment, damaged relationships, regret, insignificance, despair, and the list goes on. That's why so many people who achieve success by the world's system commit suicide. However, as believers in Jesus, we look to God and Him alone as our source. Like Jesus taught us, we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Then all that stuff will be added to us anyway. And the real beauty is that we actually end up with even more than mammon promises, but without any of the baggage that mammon also piles on people. Look to God. Trust Him. He is the only true source of everything you need to experience an abundant life.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.— Psalms 20:7 (NIV)
