When you were born again, your spirit was completely made new. Your old nature was completely changed. Now your spirit is identical to Jesus' spirit. It’s like you have become His identical twin in the spirit.

This new you in the spirit is who you really are. It's your new true identity. Learn who you now are in the spirit, and then watch your behavior become more and more like Jesus. That’s the order of things in the Kingdom of God — new identity produces new behavior.

The world gets this exactly backwards. They will try to pin an identity on you based on your past behavior. Don’t fall into this trap. You will do far better to become so intimate with who the Bible says you are in Christ that the world’s old labels for your identity slip away and no longer dictate your behavior.
