Our natural instinct is to focus on ourselves. Unfortunately, doing so magnifies our own problems while making any solutions that much more difficult to see. They say when you’re all wrapped up in yourself, you make a pretty small package.
It’s true that loving others and focusing on them goes completely against our natural thinking, especially when we are in the midst of our own life struggles. However, loving others is very liberating and has the pleasant side effect of diminishing our own challenges.
Look for ways to bless others and demonstrate the love of God to them. You will be pleasantly surprised how much better it makes you feel as you build this habit into your life!
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
