Unbelief is rampant in the body of Christ today. This is the single biggest reason our lives don't line up with what we read on the pages of scripture, because unbelief shuts down God's ability to move in our lives. For example, Jesus was unable to perform many miracles in His hometown because of their unbelief. Many times unbelief is caused by sheer ignorance. Many believers don't know what the Bible says. Some have been taught it says something that it really doesn't. Belief in those traditions keeps them from experiencing God's best. Others do have knowledge of God's Word and even believe that it is truth, while at the same time not believing it is true for themselves. The surest, quickest way to overcome unbelief and see effective faith arise in any area of your life is to invest time in Bible study alongside others who do believe. It takes time to renew your mind. To be spiritually minded is to be immersed in scripture. Doing so with others who believe accelerates the process. Faith mixed with the Word of God is contagious! You will do well to find some others who are willing to match your level of commitment to overcome unbelief and see God move in their lives.
