Gene's Daily Scriptural Postings

04 December 2021 Many people attempt to find the answers to their questions by looking inward. But that doesn't work. That's like a ship trying to set its course by looking at its own masthead light. The captain must find a navigation aid that does not move before he can safely plot his course. Since his ship is constantly in motion, he must reference something solid and unmoving outside his own ship like a lighthouse to determine his course accurately. In life, the best possible navigation aid we can use to plot our own course is God and the unwavering truth of His word. Trying to use the ever shifting relative truth inside ourselves will likely cause our life to end up shipwrecked on the rocks. At the very least we will wind up someplace different from our intended destination. Instead of looking inward, we should be looking outward to God. Once we allow Him into our lives and God takes up residence in our spirits, only then can we chart a course that is true. Then our lives will ultimately arrive at the best possible destination! O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself. It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.— Jeremiah 10:23 (NKJV)
