Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

22 July 2022

We live in a very busy culture. A premium is placed on hard work and productivity. Many times we put such a huge emphasis on working hard that we forget to rest at all. In all our busyness we miss the truth that our goal should be fruitfulness, not productivity. Fruitfulness will change the world around us far more than simple productivity. It is only when we see fruit in our lives that we touch the hearts of others. Doing so means valuing people above the tasks we do. It is important for us to stay on mission. Walking with God invariably means staying active and "doing". In fact, when we rest in God and prioritize people above our tasks, we generally accomplish more than when we get things out of order. This is because there is blessing just waiting for us to enjoy when we rest in God.

God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work of creation which he had done.— Genesis 2:3 (WEB)
