08 December 2021 When you believed on Jesus you were given a brand new nature. In fact, the Bible says that you are a brand new creation in Christ. Your old nature is gone and you were remade entirely the moment you believed in Jesus. This radical transformation happened in your spirit. The Christian life is a journey of soul transformation as we learn God's ways and line our soul up with that transformation which already happened to our spirit. Even though our spirit was made new in an instant, it takes time and effort to see transformation in our souls. The discipleship process involves washing our minds continuously with the truth of God's word. Another way the Bible encourages us in this mind renewal process is when it says to, "put on Christ." As we learn the ways of Jesus and walk in them we leave our old fleshly ways behind. One key to the victorious Christian life is learning to think like Jesus. Study God's word. Throughout your day, think about the truths you find in scripture and what they mean to you personally. Learn to let your transformed spirit dominate your thinking and your actions. As this becomes a habit in your life, you will be amazed at how radical the transformation in your life can be! But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.— Romans 13:14 (NKJV)
