Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings.

Life can be hard at times. We're in a marathon, not a sprint. Some who run marathons finish the race strong, feeling exhilarated as they cross the finish line. Others just barely cross the finish line and take a long time to recover. Still others never even finish the race because their strength fails and they drop out long before the finish line. God intends for us to be in that first category. He has provided everything we need to finish our life's race strong. The only way to truly do that is to keep our attention on Him. When we are consistently pursuing the Lord, He will strengthen us every step of the way. Then we will have more endurance than we can ever get through our own efforts. Being constantly weary is a good indication that we are operating in our own flesh and our own strength instead of relying on the Lord. God is the proper source of our strength. When we are connected to that source, the supply is infinite.

But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.— Isaiah 40:31 (HCSB)
