God invests time preparing those who accomplish big things for His people and His Kingdom. Joseph was a slave or in prison for 13 years before he was put in charge of Egypt by Pharaoh. It was 17 years after David was anointed king over Israel before He was crowned King. Even the Apostle Paul, who was as well versed in scripture as anyone in his day, did not start his ministry immediately after he was born again. Instead, he spent three years in preparation before he went to meet with Peter and then begin his ministry. If even Paul, who went on to write half of the New Testament, needed three years to prepare to step into his destiny, how much more vital is a time of preparation for what God has planned in your life? If you have a desire in your heart to accomplish something big, or if God has shown something about your destiny, be patient. Remember Joseph, David, and Paul and know this. Preparation time is never wasted time.
Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ — 1 Peter 1:13 (WEB)
