Reflective Bible Study

05 October 2022

God designed our human brains to be most affected by what pay attention to most. This means we can renew our minds by paying close attention to the truth of God's Word. Unfortunately it also means we can drift away from that truth by fixing our attention on whatever ungodliness catches our eye. Fixing our attention elsewhere may cause us to forget the truth we once knew well. It will certainly cause that truth to be far less effective in our lives. Therefore, the best option is to pay greater attention to the truth you have heard. When you do that, you give that truth even more opportunity to have a positive impact on your life. The more intimately you know the truth, the more effectively and completely it will set you free.

Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, lest perhaps we drift away.— Hebrews 2:1 (WEB)
