The parable of the sower may be the most important of all the parables of Jesus. It's found in three of the four gospel accounts. In Mark Jesus tells us we must understand this parable to gain understanding of all His other parables. Matthew and Mark tell us that when God's word is received by a receptive heart — by those who hear God's word, understand it, accept it and allow it to change their lives — that's when it produces a bountiful harvest. In Luke we see something else. There we see that patience is also required in the lives of those with a receptive heart for God's word to produce the harvest. One reason some Christians see more fruit in their lives than others is that some stick with it longer and exercise more patience than other believers do. Patience is a requirement when we are standing on the promises of God and believing to receive them in our lives. A great many Christians lose heart and give up before they receive the promise of God they are believing for. But you can stand fast until you see that promise in your life because patience is included in the fruit of the Spirit. Patience is already inside you to tap into every time you need more. Don't give up. That promise of God is indeed for you! You will reap your harvest if you don't lose heart.

But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.— Luke 8:15 (NKJV)
