Whenever faith is involved there is an element of risk because faith requires seeing with spiritual eyes that which is not yet visible to natural eyes. Faith is also risky because it requires us to do something, to take some sort of action. James tells us that unless we take action, our faith in't really alive yet. We can reduce our risk by believing what it true and anchoring our faith in that truth. Fortunately we have a source of truth we can trust in the Bible. Even though that reduces our risk considerably, it never eliminates it entirely. If you wait until there is no risk whatsoever before you step out you will never walk in faith. A farmer who waits for perfect weather conditions will never plant or harvest his crops. Likewise, you will never harvest if you wait for perfect conditions. Instead of looking at your circumstances, find a promise of God that speaks to your situation. Plant that word in your heart. Water it daily by meditating on that word. Turn it over in your mind, dwell on it, and think about it as much as you can. Then you will harvest in due season if you refuse to give up.
