The language of Law is only condemning. It never encourages or lifts up. That's why it drains life away from those who live under it. People subject themselves to rules because they think that's the way to keep themselves in line and restrain their flesh. But it never works. Those rules they impose on themselves and others to keep their flesh under control really feed their flesh instead of restraining it. That way leads to death and destruction. The life we desperately need is only found by faith when we believe in Jesus. Our solution is to focus our attention on the things above, not on the things of this earth. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, when we abide in Him, then we will find the abundant life we long to experience. The language of Jesus and the Holy Spirit is one of encouragement. They lift us up so that we become the best versions of ourselves that we can be. They draw out the best in us, which in turn allows us to encourage and inspire others. That's how you become who God truly created you to be. Today, allow yourself to be drawn to God's words of life. Also consider the words you say too. Let them be life-giving instead of words that tear down, pouring death and negativity on your world.
