You were not created to be able to handle the stress of worrying. It causes emotional distress and eats away at your physical body. Believe it or not, you don’t get extra points for worrying in the Kingdom of God. There is worrying olympics there. So all that time you put in towards winning a gold medal for an endurance worrying event will come up empty. Instead of losing sleep worrying, why not try something different? The Bible tells us we should pass all that stuff along to God and let Him deal with it. Make it a habit to turn tomorrow’s worries into today’s prayer request. Trust God to work all things out for your good — even the things you’ve messed up, or the things which outside forces are ravaging. Allow His supernatural peace to come into your soul. And then, enjoy a good night's sleep!
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.— Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)
