Some people mistakenly think that leadership is all about doing whatever the person wants. But that's not the case. Good leaders are themselves subject to authority. We know this because we can look to Jesus who is our example in all things. Even though the name of Jesus is above every other name and He is King above all kings, Jesus Himself remains subject to the Father. We see this in the gospels where Jesus said that he only does what He sees the Father doing. The Bible also says that even to the end of time, Jesus will remain subject to the Father. Rebellious people never make good leaders because a critical component to leadership is submission to a higher authority. As believers, we should look to Jesus as our authority in all things. At the same time, we should respect the various leaders God has appointed over us. Whose leadership are you submitted to today?

Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. — 1 Corinthians 15:28 (NKJV)
