AUDIO VERSIONNEW YEAR NEW START It is that time of year again. The new year is approaching right on schedule, and this is when many of us start making resolutions to change certain areas in our lives.

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

We may have some extra pounds to shed and even be committed to changing a specific behavior. But with all New Year’s resolutions, they range from simple desires to seemingly full-proof plans for extensive life change.

But what we all have is hope that something will change and life will get better in the year ahead.

People ring in the New Year every year with goals to live differently on some level. However, a few short weeks later, many of these very same well-wishers end up discouraged over their failed attempts to make their resolutions come to pass. This may be the second, third, fourth, or 15th year someone has tried to change.

That means this year, this month, today, or even this moment, is filled with hope for a better future. We do not have to do “it” alone anymore. Whatever your “it” might be, you too can turn from your “it” and release it into the capable hands of the ultimate Life-Changer. Jesus

We have the perfect example to follow when we desire to change: Jesus. When we are ready to implement change, we have the perfect guidebook: The Bible. Finally, we have the perfect companion to strengthen our resolve: Holy Spirit.

As we pursue change in God’s way, hope for a better future is no longer a dream; it becomes our reality. We truly can experience freedom in our lives today, tomorrow, and forever.

With Jesus, we do not have to wait for another New Year to roll around or for the big glittery ball to drop in Times Square. God’s mercy is new every morning, and we can pursue our new beginning right now.

As we walk in love for one another by forgiving, encouraging, and helping each other, we will find the strength to do what one person alone could never accomplish. Together, we can move mountains!

As we have discovered, change can be challenging, but as we journey together down the road to freedom this New Year, stay focused on the One guiding us: Jesus.

Happy New Year and happy new beginnings!Do you need Prayer? We are here to pray with you.

“Heavenly Father, I am so thankful Your mercy is new every morning. I am forever thankful for the love You have for me. I do not have to do “it” alone anymore. Whatever my “it” might be, I can turn from my “it” and release it into the capable hands of the ultimate Life-Changer. Jesus. You have provided the perfect way and gave the perfect sacrifice for me to live eternally with You. This coming year I make the commitment to read, listen, and obey Your Words of Wisdom as I will be spending eternity with You. I love You, Father God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
