Many people misunderstand strength. They see strength in a worldly way where loud, dominating types are seen as strong. In that view, strength is about the ability to intimidate or control others. Really there is little difference between that and a bully. Unfortunately, many believers buy into this false view of strength. As a result they believe the lie that says they themselves are weak because they don't dominate or control others. What's needed is a revelation of God's perspective on true strength. After all, His perspective is the one that matters most. Godly strength is found in quiet confidence. When you are strong in Christ you don't need to point it out to others. Confidence in your own identity in Christ allows you to rest. You no longer have to tell others how amazing you are or talk yourself up because you then trust God to promote you. God is looking for those who are willing to rest in Him with quiet confidence because those are the people He wants to promote. Are you willing to rest in God today?
For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said: “You will be delivered by returning and resting; your strength will lie in quiet confidence. But you are not willing.” — Isaiah 30:15 (HCSB)
