Nearly everyone has a hunger and a longing for something, even if they can't put their finger on exactly what it is. It's a desire for something more. We are wired with a deep down craving for meaning, significance, and purpose. It's a longing of their soul like a hunger or a thirst, like something is missing or incomplete. Most bad habits and addictions are really just an attempt to satisfy this desire with something, even when that something is ultimately destructive. Jesus is the bread of life and the only source of living water. It is in Jesus that we can find true satisfaction to the deepest longings of our soul. Jesus satisfies the hungry but He has nothing to offer for those who are already full. They say you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. God won't force anyone to choose Him. But God will satisfy those who hunger with good things.

He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. — Luke 1:53 (NKJV)
