The Bible reveals that God created us to be three part beings: body, soul, and spirit. Science and most of the world does not acknowledge our spirits. This leads to all sorts of error in their understanding of our human makeup. For example, it is our spirits that set humanity uniquely apart from the rest of creation. Not understanding this causes some to elevate animals to co-equal status with mankind because there are indeed soulful animals. A lack of spirit will prevent artificial intelligence from usurping humans. You are fearfully and wonderfully made in three parts. The scriptures make this clear. You will be wise to feed your spirit the solid, healthy food from God's word. The answers to your pressing life questions can be found in Christ, and in His word. You eat physical food to satisfy your natural hunger. Your spiritual hunger can only be satisfied by a healthy diet found in God's word.
For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. — Hebrews 4:12 (WEB)
