Day 18 of the "RIPRIDE4Vets 2021" – Getting ready to bust over 9,000 miles and the ride continues. By the way, I’ve had a hard time keeping up with what day is what and I just realized that I would complete this ride on 20 days, not 21 days. So, yesterday was actually Day 18 and I had a great escort from the owners of the Psycho Silo bring me in from Kewanee at Reiman’s Harley Davidson. The event at Psycho Silo Saloon in Langley, IL was awesome and then from there I traveled down to Carlinville, IL in the rain once again and had dinner with COL (Ret) John P. Edwards, Former Commander of the 357th Aviation Detachment back in 1977 and his wife Jackie Edwards. Put in a lot of miles, so trying to meet Col Carl Whicker for breakfast this morning. (See Pictures below)
Day 19 of 20 – Big day today as I depart Carbondale, IL headed to meet COL (Ret) Carl Whicker for breakfast or drive out to his house this morning, then I’m headed to see my good friend Sgt John Houck in Leawood, KS and then off to Hays, KS on my return home back to the official “Eagle’s Nest” in Castle Rock.
