The Bible is very clear. All Scripture is both inspired by God and profitable to thoroughly equip you for every good work.
First, it's talking about all scripture, not just the passages we like. We will do well to study both the Old Testament and the New, both the words of Jesus and the words of the apostles. It's dangerous to only spend time with the subjects we like.
Allowing Scripture to speak to us on those subjects that challenge our hearts is also important. When we restrict our intake to only one portion of scripture instead of the whole counsel of God's word, then we risk an incomplete view of God and drifting into error.
Scripture is profitable to thoroughly equip you for every good work. This includes both spiritual and practical equipping. God has already provided all the resources you need to do the things He is calling you to do. He's made both natural and supernatural resources available to you.
Scripture is God's treasure map revealing how to access His Kingdom resources for your Kingdom assignment. You will do well to invest more time in God's word because that time promises to be a profitable investment. | ||
