Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

01 April 2024

Jesus said there is a process to receiving from God in prayer. He said to pray believing we receive what we pray for from God, and then we will have it. That says a lot.

First, we must truly believe that we receive what we pray for. This is good news because we have the ability to change what we believe. The surest way to bolster this belief is to pray God's own words back to Him.

Find one of God's promises in scripture related to your situation. Meditate on that promise. Let it strengthen the belief in your heart so that it grows into effective faith. You can pray that promise back to God with confidence knowing it already belongs to you because of the finished work of Jesus.

The moment you pray that prayer in belief is the moment you received what you prayed for. Even so, there will be some period of time between your receiving it in the spiritual and your having it in the natural. It might be a few moments, a few months, or even longer. Your job during that interim is to retain your belief that you already possess what you are yet to have in the natural.

Keep meditating on that promise. Know that it's a done deal and you will have it. Jesus promised this to you.

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

— Mark 11:24 (NKJV)
