The “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day!

Good “Saturday!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome to the weekend from the “Colonel’s Foxhole” heading back to The Woodlands, TX — 5 November 2022!

Today’s Message is: “Write Day!” Why Not?

“What happens when leaders write down their goals? First, it is more powerful when it is written down and leaders are more likely to achieve those goals. Effective leaders get that brain-to-hand connection when they write out their goals, purpose, and vision. It keeps their focus narrow, and they stay motivated when they can see their goals on paper. Are you committed to writing down your goals and measuring the progress toward achieving them?”— COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good afternoon Col Burroughs and all of my brothers and sisters here on VFV. I have had a most troublesome time trying to post a response today. Some of my pasting just went crazy. I hope that this time is better. When I saw the first image that was by Isabel Allende about Writeabout what should not be forgotten, I immediately thought of the Gospel of Jesus. I found an article/link that I wish to share with you. Have a blessed day today and always.

Mikel, I don't envy your trip to NYC, Growing up in NY and Long Island was great, back in the day. So glad I left and never went back to live there. Cheers

Funny, I was never much of a written goal type when I was in the military. Yes we had goals but the concept of writing them down didn't really come around until a change in the APR/OPR system required it late in my career. Now in my civilian career it was a mandatory thing at all levels so guessing written goals was a management

concept developed in the late 80s. Guess I'm a dinosaur.

Jack I got used to military and nursing ways of writing, in other words, not necessarily complete sentences. When I went back to school for my nursing masters, things changed big time, but I survived and then when I was teaching I was having to grade papers. Definite major change regarding writing styles.

Good “Saturday“ Morning Robert! Sorry I haven’t been able to respond over the last two days. Been in NYC on business and I’m not in the airport waiting for my flight home to Houston, TX. I had a few minutes before the flight takes off. Have a great day and thank you for being here each day.
