Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

Faithfulness is an under-appreciated trait in the body of Christ. Far too often people are promoted in ministry on the basis of their skill set instead of their character. Yet the New Testament is clear. One of the top characteristics that makes a good leader in the Kingdom of God is faithfulness.

It is a good goal in life to hear Jesus say, “Well done!" as we step into eternity. We will hear those words when we are His good and faithful servants.

Faithfulness has many facets. A faithful person is loyal. They show consistency over an extended period of time. Faithful people are lovers of the truth and represent it in all things. And a faithful person is also full of faith. They boldly move in the direction of the supernatural and therefore see the miraculous in their lives.

These are the characteristics we should be looking for in those we promote to prominence in the Kingdom of God. There is always room for more faithfulness in our lives. As you grow in this area, hear Jesus speaking those precious words over your own life, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

— 1 Corinthians 4:2 (NKJV)
