Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

16 March 2024

At the end of the parable of the unjust steward, Jesus says the master commended the steward. This praise of the steward in spite of the fact that he continued to steal from his master makes sense when we understand the difference between the Kingdom of God and the way mammon affects people.

God's Kingdom prioritizes people and relationships above money. Therefore money becomes a tool we can use to influence our future. Even in the mammon system people understand the concept of saving for their future.

We can do something even better as believers because we can literally pay it forward all the way into eternity. We can convert temporal money in this world into changed lives, which will last for all of eternity. Using our money to bless others is the highest and best use we can make of it in this lifetime. In this way we expand our influence and can make a bigger impact for the Kingdom of God for all eternity.

So the question is this. How do you use your money?

I tell you, make for yourselves friends by means of unrighteous mammon, so that when you fail, they may receive you into the eternal tents. — Luke 16:9 (WEB)
