Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

Most people think that sowing and reaping is an instantaneous thing. They hear stories of someone who gave a small amount of money and then received a much larger amount very quickly and assume that is the normal way planting and harvesting works. But the reality is this.

Often there is a delay between when we plant our spiritual seed and when we see the harvest arrive on what we planted. What we do in that delay is critical. We gain the promises of God through faith and patience.

God hard wired the law of sowing and reaping, planting and harvesting in to the universe at creation. The Bible tells us it is attempting mockery of God to think otherwise.

The Bible also promises that we will indeed receive our harvest in due season if we do not lose heart and give up. Giving up is the main reason people think planting and harvesting doesn't work.

Many believe if it is meant to be, then God will just do it without any input on their part. But that's not what the Bible says. The key to receiving the harvest you are believing for is not giving up on your faith in God's promise of harvest for the seed you've sown. The pressure is on the seed to produce the harvest because God said it will.

Don't give up on your seed. Trust God to show you the harvest and expect Him to do what He said he will on your behalf.

And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up. — Galatians 6:9 (MEV)
