The only way to get free of the lies that hold us back is to replace them with the truth. We have to be exposed to the truth, meditate on it, let it stir around in our minds and penetrate our souls. It takes time and effort on our part.
Freedom comes with transformation, which means we must renew our minds. It can help to listen repeatedly to good Bible teaching in an area we want to grow in. Keep meditating on that truth until you then learn it, apply it, and that truth becomes part of who you are.
Jesus said we are to “abide” in His word. That word means to remain, dwell, tarry, continue, endure. It’s not a one-time thing. Instead, we make hearing the truth of His words and meditating on them part of our new lifestyle in Christ. That is the point we see freedom take root in our lives.
The bottom line is this. The more time you spend with truth, the harder it is to believe lies. | ||
