The “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day!
Good “Thursday!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome from the “Colonel’s Foxhole” in The Woodlands, TX — 7 July 2022!
Today’s Message is: “Expectations Day!” Why Not?
“People can look at expectations two ways. Setting high expectations will lead to disappointment or setting high expectations will deliver great results. Great leaders set high expectations for their organization and their team. Their objective is to raise performance to meet expected mission accomplishment. They do this by leading by example and setting high standards and expectations for themselves. They envision the future, they energize the team, they set high standards, and they reinforce the behaviors and conduct consistent with the high expectations they’ve set. Leaders that set high expectations and live by them are charismatic. What expectations will you set as a leader?” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good afternoon Col Burroughs and all of my brothers and sisters here on VFV. I am sure all of us at one time or another have fallen short of our expectations, or possibly fallen short of a loved one’s expectations of us. Then again I’m sure most of us have surprised ourselves or have been surprised by the higher expectations we have displayed or encountered. With that being said, how have y’all attained the higher expectations y‘all have set or that others have exceeded. I would like to look at what will give us the ability to meet or exceed our expectations. I believe the below link is a great article that will point us in the right direction. Have…
Good Thursday afternoon Colonel. I couldn’t resist the last one.
Jack we are thinking alike today!
I've always been a believer in setting high expectations, but those also need to have a foot in reality. The difference between expectations and achievability should always be in the back of a leaders mind.
