The Bible says something very profound about you that you may have missed. In Ephesians 1:6 the original Greek uses the word charitoō. Even though it derives from the root word charis, which we know means grace, it really does not have an English equivalent.

The King James Version says God, "made us accepted.” But it means so much more than that. In truth God has made us graceful, lovely, and agreeable. In fact, this is the same Greek word which Luke uses when recording the angel telling Mary that she is “highly favored” (Luke 1:28).

By using this word, the Bible raises every believer to the same level of grace and favor in God’s eyes as the mother of Jesus. It tells us the Father pursues us with His grace. He pours that grace into us until it fills us up. And He also honors us with abundant blessings and favor.

This is part of your new identity in Christ. Think about what this means for your life.

Will you believe it today?

To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. — Ephesians 1:6 (NKJV)
