It is a decision of our will to praise God and be thankful for all He does for us. We can choose to do this regardless of our circumstances. Praising and thanking God for who He is and what He's done is the core of worship.
Making the effort to worship God in this way accomplishes a couple things for us. First, it enlarges our perspective of God. While He doesn’t actually change size, we perceive Him as bigger when we worship Him.
At the same time, praising and thanking God reduces our perception of how big the problems we face are. This is because it moves us into a place of faith, to where we begin to see real change in our world.
You can start right now. Praise God. Thank Him. Invest a little time in His presence and watch how your perspective shifts!
I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. — Psalms 69:30 (WEB)
