Jesus explained how we are to abide in Him with an analogy of us being the branches and Him being the vine. The branches must stay connected to the vine to retain life. Therefore it’s vital for us to pursue an intimate relationship with Him.

The world, the enemy, and often other people will do most everything they can to distract you from that intimate time in His presence because that’s where we experience His goodness. It will take some intentional effort to get started building that habit of abiding in Christ. As you start to experience the goodness of God, you’ll want more of it, which leads to more intimacy with Him.

One of the natural results of truly abiding in Jesus is that we begin to walk and live just as He walked and lived. The exact same power and Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead and powered all the miracles He performed is living inside you right now as a believer in Jesus.

Renew your mind and let that power flow into every aspect of your life. That's how you will truly impact the hurting world around you.
