Some people think faith is about denying the facts of a situation. But true faith has no problem acknowledging the facts because those with understanding know that truth trumps facts. Therefore they exalt the truth, regardless of the current facts they see. Truth simply is. Otherwise it wouldn't be truth. This means when we see facts that conflict with the Word of God and don't line up with what we know to be true, we can trust the truth to overrule those facts we see and have more power. It's just like how the aerodynamic forces of lift and thrust can seemingly overrule the law of gravity to allow an airplane to fly. Gravity doesn’t cease to exist when the plane lifts off the ground. In fact, gravity continues to pull at it throughout its flight. Instead, the aircraft applies those higher laws of aerodynamics to fly because they overpower gravity. In the same way, when you know that you know that you know God’s truth like that to the point where even conflicting facts can't keep you from it, that is when you experience genuine freedom. |
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:31-32 (NKJV) |
