Righteousness with God is revealed, not earned. The grace of God comes first, then people are counted righteous by God. We see this as far back as Noah in Genesis 6:8-9.

In that passage it says Noah found grace in God's eyes first. Then it says he was righteous. So many Christians get that backwards. They think they have to be righteous first before they can find God's grace. But instead, we truly receive God's grace by faith through revelation.

Fortunately we have it easier than Noah did. Today we can look to the finished work of Jesus on the cross and to His resurrection and get that revelation of God's grace. Then we can accept that revelation by faith.

When you believe the truth of God, that's when God counts you as righteous. Stop beating yourself up for missing the mark. Your righteousness is not based on what you do, but rather what you believe.

Trust what Jesus did on your behalf. Believe God. And then relax!
