Many people in the world think people should be compensated based on their needs. This worldly mindset of needs-based generosity can cary over into our prayer lives as believers. Yet the Bible says that we instead receive out of God's abundance. That one truth can radically transform the way you pray. Instead of trying to motivate God to move on your behalf because of how big your need is, why not ask Him to supply what you need based on how much abundance He has? Think about it. We already have the fullness of everything that God has because we are already complete in Christ. This truth demands a shift in focus. Get your attention off of your need and onto the abundance of God. That's where your answer will be found. You are a child of God Himself. So stop coming to Him like a stranger begging for mercy. Instead, take your place as God's son or daughter and receive the inheritance He left especially for you! |
For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift. — John 1:16 (AMPC) |
