The work we do matters to God. He is far more concerned about the attitude and diligence of our work than He is about the quality of the person or organization we work for.

Bible heroes such as Joseph, Daniel, Esther, and Nehemiah all served ungodly kings. Because each of these men and women of God all went about their business with excellence, they were promoted into positions of influence. They were able to exert that influence for the good of God's people.

Look to these examples. You don't need better leaders in order to do a better job. Instead do the best job you can with the resources you have at hand. Allow God to be your personal supervisor at work.

Start putting your heart into your work and watch God promote you into positions of greater influence.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. — Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)
