FAITH THAT REFRESHES OTHERS

This brief letter from Paul to Philemon is a wonderful reminder that our faith is not meant to be hidden away. Instead, it’s something to be lived out and shared so that the goodness of Jesus shines through us and uplifts those around us.

that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. Philemon 1:6

Paul encourages Philemon by letting him know that as he shares his faith, it will not only bring joy to others but also help him discover more of the wonderful things God has already placed within him.

When we openly live out our faith, through our words, actions, and attitudes, we remind ourselves of the many blessings God has given us. It is a bit like telling a friend about a time God answered your prayer; not only does it encourage them, but it also fills your own heart with gratitude. Your story becomes a double blessing: it lifts up the listener and refreshes your spirit too.

Paul wanted Philemon to see that the strength of his faith was connected to his willingness to notice and celebrate all the good things Jesus had already done in his life. The same is true for us today. It is easy to focus on what we lack or the challenges ahead, but God has already given us everything we need for whatever we’re facing.

The more we recognize and thank God for His goodness, the more confident and joyful we become in sharing our faith. Sharing does not have to be complicated, it can be as simple as showing kindness, offering a word of encouragement, or sharing honestly about how Jesus has made a difference in your life.

Today, take a moment to remember the good things already in you because of Jesus. Then, see if there is a simple way you can share a little of that with someone else. You never know, your faith, lived out in love, might be just the encouragement someone needs. And along the way, you will find your own faith growing stronger and brighter, too.

Do you need Prayer? We are here to pray with you.

Heavenly Father, thank You for every good thing You have placed in me. Help me to see Your blessings clearly and share them with others. Let my faith shine with love, bringing encouragement and pointing hearts back to You. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
