FINDING REFUGE IN THE LORD

There is great comfort in knowing that God Himself is our place of safety. When life feels overwhelming or challenges seem too much, whether they are emotional storms, spiritual battles, or physical difficulties, King Solomon reminds us that the Lord is always there as our refuge, ready to welcome us and bring us peace.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10

God is not just a distant symbol of strength, He is an approachable, unshakable fortress. His name brings comfort, power, and protection to everyone who trusts in Him.

In ancient times, towers were places of safety and protection. They were built high and strong so enemies could not easily reach those inside. Solomon uses that image to describe the security all Believers have in God. When you run to Him, you are not heading toward uncertainty, you are stepping into the safest, most loving place you could ever be. His protection is not limited by time, distance, or circumstance. You do not have to climb your way to God or prove your worth; you simply have to call on His name, and He is there for you.

There is also a beautiful simplicity in this Bible verse. It does not say, The name of the Lord is one of many safe places. It says it is the strong tower. That means you do not need to build your own fortress out of worry, money, or control. Those things can crumble, but God never will. His loving presence surrounds you with peace even when chaos feels close.

When fear tries to whisper that you’re exposed or alone, remember that true safety is not about where you are, it is about Whose you are. The righteous run to God because they know the truth: there is no safer place than in the loving arms of the Almighty. Whatever storm you are facing, speak His name. Run to God with confidence. He will always meet you there, and in His presence, you’ll find strength, courage, and perfect peace.

Do you need Prayer? We are here to pray with you.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my strong tower and safe place. When fear and trouble rise, help me run to You first. Remind me that Your name carries power and peace that never fail. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Run To God With Confidence. He Will Meet You There, And In His Presence, You Will Find Strength, Courage, And Perfect Peace.
